Devig your first boost in 60 seconds
Your book just slapped a "BOOSTED" tag on a bet and turned the price gold. They want you to feel like you're getting away with something. Sometimes you are. Most of the time you're not. Here's how to know which one it is before the line moves.
Step 1: find the real market (20 seconds)
Every boost starts life as a normal bet. Find that bet on the board. Say the book boosts a moneyline
to +300, and the same wager sits in the regular menu at +240, with the other side at −310. Those two
numbers are the market. Write them down as +240/-310: your side first, a slash, their side.
Step 2: devig it (20 seconds)
Paste +240/-310 into the calculator's Leg Odds box and put the
boosted price, 300, in Final Odds. Done. The tool strips the juice four different ways
and headlines the stingiest answer, so you can't fool yourself with the friendliest math.
Step 3: read the verdict (20 seconds)
For this example the worst-case devig (power) says the fair price is +280. The book is paying +300. That's +5.2% EV, and the suggested stake is 0.43 units at quarter-Kelly. Green light. (The friendliest method says +12% EV. Notice how different that is. That gap is exactly why the headline number is the conservative one.)
The bar to clear
One green number doesn't make a career. Set a floor and hold it: +3% or better on mainlines (moneyline, spread, total), +5% or better on props, and if you're brand new, hold out for +10% while you learn. Below the bar, pass without a second thought. There's another boost tomorrow.
